To support pastorates in maintaining their Manses whilst occupied by a minister, there is an Annual Manse Grant of up to £1,000 towards the expenses of repairs and maintenance.
To claim the grant, please send a letter or email to the Property Administrator at the Synod Office or at [email protected], enclosing or attaching the receipted invoice(s).
The following items cannot be claimed:
– Regular service charges, such as annual boiler servicing
– Annual Gas Safety Check
– 5-yearly Electrical Inspection & Condition Report
– Regular garden maintenance costs, such as a gardener or garden waste sacks/wheelie bins.
Any unclaimed grant in a year may be carried forward for one year.
Pleease note that this grant cannot be claimed whilst a Manse is let during a vacancy, because maintenance costs are recovered from the rental income.
