Welcome to the Training and Development page of the Southern Synod website.
My name is Revd Dr Charisa Hunter-Crump, and I am the Training and Development Officer for Southern Synod. I have been in Southern Synod since March 2025, and I am excited to be on this journey of learning and exploring together.
I am a British citizen with American roots. Raised in North London and educated with a Bachelor of Divinity from the University of St Andrews, I went on to get my Master of Divinity in the US. After ordination, I served my first churches with the URC in the Eastern Synod. In 1997 I moved from Southend-on-Sea to Colorado where I lived for 27 years with my husband, raising our three kids, serving churches with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and getting my Doctor of Ministry from Philips Seminary.
