On Saturday 15th March we celebrated the induction of the Revd. Sohail Ejaz as minister of word and sacrament at St John’s, Orpington.
Revd Russell Furley-Smith convenor of Synod Council and acting for the Moderator presided at the service. The church was full with members and friends – some who had travelled a long way to join us in celebrating this wonderful occasion. Sohail was greeted by Ian Moore, Interim Moderator, the church secretaries, representatives from uniformed organisations, local church leaders and community groups and the Mayor of Bromley. One of the highlights was the children leading singing (with actions) of “Our God is a great big God”. The service was followed by an afternoon tea for all.
