Eldership Training: A Training Series (in-person and online)
WHAT: trainings in what it means to be an Elder – including the scriptural basis and the URC interpretation, followed by specific training in Worship and Pulpit Supply, Governance, Mission, and Spirituality as well as Pastoral Care.
As it is difficult to cover everything an Elder needs to know in one session, training topics will be split into five different online training sessions, each offered twice a year. There will also be one Area Elders Training in person for each Area.
WHEN: online training sessions will be on the;
- 4th Sunday from 14:30-16:30 (January, February, March, April and June)
- 2nd Sunday from 14:30-16:30 (July, September, October, November and December).
One in-person training session will be held in each area;
SSSA: 27th September at Oxted URC.
KESSA: 19th April at Tonbridge URC.
CSUA: 21st June at tbc.
SLSA: 10th May at East Croydon URC.
HOW: information about training sessions will be sent out to all Ministers and Church Secretaries along with sign up information. This will also be available on the website.
