From Jenny Bond, Churches Together in England
CTE is delighted to co-sponsor a special ecumenical celebration to mark a hundred years since the birth of Blessed Oscar Romero: The hope that inspires Christians.
You are warmly invited to this extended evensong at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 23 September 2017 at 3.00 pm. Rowan Williams will be the preacher and the service will include a reflection on Oscar Romero’s cherished final words, readings, and the premiere of a Romero Anthem composed by James MacMillan. Cardinal Vincent Nichols, one of our Presidents, and David Cornick, CTE’s General Secretary, will participate in the service. Further information is on our website and enquiries should be addressed to the Romero Trust.
I attach an A4 flyer poster. We would be most grateful if you could distribute these as widely as possible.
I hope very much that you are able to be present on this very special occasion to honour the legacy of Archbishop Oscar Romero who, as you know, is a great inspiration to Christians of all denominations in Britain.
