I write to inform you that I have accepted a call to become the next URC Secretary for Ministries.
It has been a huge privilege to be Moderator of Southern Synod, a role I have, for the most part, enjoyed immensely. Whilst I have been very happy in my role, over the past year, a number of ‘promptings’ encouraged me to explore whether God was calling me to pursue ministry elsewhere. The opportunity arose to test this calling which I took, the outcome being a strong sense of call that this is where God intends me to be. God’s call can be surprising!
The last 8 and a half years have been eventful but I will leave the Synod in the knowledge that it is in safe hands because of your faithfulness to walking his way – living the life of Jesus today. I have really enjoyed your colleagueship and it is this I shall miss most about moving on. I shall still be a minister residing in the Synod so, hopefully, our paths will cross on occasions!
I anticipate finishing as Moderator of Southern Synod towards the end of October. Thank you for being part of my journey.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
