Current deadline – 17th September for a panel meeting on 1st October
The Strategic Mission Fund supports projects or personnel which enable mission, including youth and children’s work. Projects might be quite small, perhaps a day trip, or larger endeavours perhaps employing a community worker for a few years. Applications are particularly encouraged from churches that have not previously received synod funding.
Applications for up to £20,000 will normally be considered electronically and a response given within a month. Larger applications, ones that raise wider issues, are ecumenical projects or charities, will be considered at the periodic meetings of the Strategic Mission Fund Panel.
The initial application form is used for all applications. Our field officers are here to help, please ask us for advice at the beginning of the process.
Included in your application should be:
- the church’s mission and how the project will fulfil the church’s vision. Where are you now, where would you like to be? Where is God, Jesus, the Bible in this work?
- how the project will be managed, including supervision, on costs etc. and who will be involved. For employing staff, we would expect to see job descriptions and budgets.
- the transformation the project may have on the local community, church or others.
Larger grant applicant churches may also be asked to make a personal presentation to the Strategic Mission Fund Panel as part of the process of seeking approval.
