Synod Together 2025

Members from all around Southern Synod gathered at East Croydon URC on Saturday 8th March, for another successful Synod Together meeting. This was a great opportunity for people to catch up, worship and also get some important business passed.

The meeting began with an inspiring worship from Revd Memona Shahbaz centred on the theme of Synod Together, ‘Meeting the Team.’ The sense of teamwork was reinforced when we welcomed Mrs Jo Patterson (Mission and Discipleship Officer) and the Revd Dr Charisa Hunter-Crump (Training and Development Officer) as they were inducted into their new roles.

Mark Rigby also led a thought-provoking presentation on ‘Sailing the Eldership’ encouraging all attendees to think about eldership and what it means in their local Church. Mark is running some eldership training sessions, details of which can be found later on in the newsletter!

A huge thank you to all those who were involved in making the meeting a success, especially to all those from East Croydon URC who hosted us, as well as Martin Hayward (Synod Clerk), and Revd Russell Furley-Smith (Synod Council Convenor) who stepped in last minute to chair the meeting.
