A message from the Synod Clerk
Dear Friends
With the hope of resurrection to eternal life, I write to inform you that we received the news that the Revd John Joseph, retired minister who was in the Surrey & Sussex Synod Area and resided at Bognor Regis died on Wednesday evening, 28 June 2017.
A private family committal is being held on Monday 17 July and a service of thanksgiving for John’s life at Redhill URC on Tuesday 18 July at 1.30.
In 1 Corinthians 15: 20-26 it is stated: “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” May we, with hope, continue to look forward to the saying that is written to come true that “Death has been swallowed up in victory”.
We continue to hold his widow Jenny and all the family in our prayers.
Yours in Christ
Revd Derrick Dzandu-Hedidor
