Andy Twilley, our new Training and Development Officer (TDO) started yesterday. We all wish him a very warm welcome to Southern Synod!
Andy has written the following for our website:-
“Ever since a teenager, when God called me to full time ministry, I have had a passion for local Church, and a desire to see churches become the dynamic organisms God designed them to be. Paul writes of “equipping God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Ephesians 4: 12) and this has always been my desire.
Over the past 30 years in ministry I have led several local churches, I was Bible promotion manager with Scripture Union, and for 7 years was a Director with the Nationwide Christian Trust.
My desire is to help individuals and churches grow in their handling of the Bible, and effectively apply its truths to real life issues today. All too often we can fail to be relevant in what we do and how we live out our faith, and helping people to address this challenge is my core desire.
Please get in touch if you want to explore specific training needs within your church, and watch this space to see the opportunities which will be offered to churches throughout the Synod in the months ahead.”
