My name is Tawonga Mtika I’m 22 years old and I live in Rochester in the Southeast of England and I am honoured to introduce myself as the new Youth Representative for the Southern Synod of the United Reformed Church. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role and to be a voice for the young people in our Synod.
As someone who is passionate about faith, justice, and community, I believe strongly in the importance of making sure that young voices are not only heard but truly listened to and valued in the life of the Church. I’m excited to connect with youth across our congregations—to hear your stories, your hopes, your challenges, and your dreams for what the Church can be.
In this role, I hope to help build bridges between generations, amplify youth-led initiatives, and work alongside others to ensure that the Church remains a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring space for all young people.
Thank you for welcoming me into this position. I look forward to working with you and growing together in faith and fellowship.
