Training sessions are being offered locally for all elders in Southern Synod, focusing on the crucial role of spiritual leadership. The sessions provide bible-based guidance and practical support particularly for churches without a stipendiary Minister in post. The URC principle of Every Member Ministry supports this programme which aims to encourage and empower elders to inspire others to grow in faith and understanding
