Synod Youth Exec

What is it?

A group of young people aged 14-25 associated with churches in different areas of Southern Synod. The aim is to enable young people to have a voice and influence decision making in the Synod and to help plan and organise events for young people. Mixed in with the serious stuff, there’s a lot of fun and opportunity to meet new people.

The Youth Exec meet 3-4 times each year, usually on  a weekend, but they stay in touch between events using a Facebook group. They also share information with others through the SSYE blog.

Synod Youth Exec have representatives on the Synod Children & Youth Work committee and some attend and speak at the annual Synod Together meeting or at their Synod Area meetings.

Many of the members of Synod Youth Exec attend the URC Youth Assembly each year (last weekend of January) and every other year some members of the Synod Youth Exec will represent Southern Synod at the URC General Assembly.

Who is it for?

Young people aged 14 – 25 years who are associated with a United Reformed Church, and who want to be more involved in church life for young people in the Southern Synod.
