As you will see from the Job Description we’re looking for someone who will bring with them significant experience of working with people of other faiths, ideally in a chaplaincy context.

It’s an exciting time at St. Peter’s House. We’re in the process of re-imagining what chaplaincy looks
like for a vibrant twenty-first century university community and we’re looking for a person to journey
with us. The potential here is vast; three High Education Institutions, 85,000 Staff and Students, a
significant building, a growing staff team and a supportive board.

Manchester is a dynamic city in which to live and minister. Oxford Road (where the Universities and
St. Peter’s House are located) is a significant centre within the city with Manchester Museum, The
Whitworth Art Gallery, The Contact Theatre and the Student Union all within a few minutes’ walk of
St. Peter’s House. We really are located at the heart of the Student Campus.

It’s been a time of change at St. Peter’s House and that brings both challenges and opportunity. Over
this past six months we have addressed many of the challenges that we were facing, and now we’re
looking forward with great anticipation to the opportunities that are now coming out way.
If you decide to apply, then please send an up to date CV and a covering letter (altogether this should
not exceed four sides of A4). In the covering letter we would like you to systematically address how
you fit the criteria sought in the Person Specification on page two of the Job Description.

The deadline for applications is 10 am on 18th April and we will notify candidates that we wish to call
to interview, and those we do not, by 21st April. The interviews will take place on 27th April.

If you’d like an informal conversation then please do phone 0161 225 2894 or email
ben.edson@manchester.ac.uk to arrange a suitable time.
