Equipped to be M.A.D.

On April 8, over 80 people flocked to Hassocks URC with the desire to discover how they could be more effective in “Making A Difference” in the work of God’s Kingdom. It was a day designed to enthuse, encourage and equip; to catch a vision for what God was wanting to do in and through each of us as we seek to serve within our local context.

And we were not disappointed. With four diverse seminars presented by Nicola, Tom, Guy, Catherine, Simon and myself, there was something for everyone. At the end of the day, the challenge was presented: “what will you now do with what you have heard and received?” A seed will never grow unless it is planted and watered, so too, a vision will remain as simply an exciting idea unless something is done with it.

The day ended with everyone singing a song which was new to many, containing the following words:

Build Your kingdom here let the darkness fear.

Show Your mighty hand, heal our streets & land.

Set Your church on fire. Win this nation back.

Change the atmosphere.

Build Your kingdom here we pray.

Let’s be expectant as we see our prayer answered.
